Talking About Hobbies in Spanish

Hobby Spanish becomes useful when you can say what you like doing, talk about a favorite activity, explain how often you do it, and ask someone else about their free time.

Your next small win: name common hobbies, use me gusta and me encanta, add frequency expressions, and ask another person about their interests.

Many hobbies are easiest to talk about with an infinitive, such as leer, cocinar, or viajar.

Me Gusta, Me Encanta, and Favorites

Use me gusta + infinitive for an activity you like. Use me encanta + infinitive when you want to express stronger enthusiasm.

I like to read.
Me gusta cocinar.

Me encanta tocar la guitarra.

Mi pasatiempo favorito es la fotografía.

Pattern: after me gusta or me encanta, keep the activity verb in the infinitive: leer, viajar, cocinar.

Two useful sentence types: you can say Me gusta escuchar música todos los días to combine a preference with frequency, or simply Leo a menudo to describe a routine.
